The Real Deal…very few 1st gen Mustangs are taken to this level. I'm a fastidious owner that likes everything right. Two years to build and sort...this Mustang gets more thumbs-up than any car I've ever owned.
Prelude...after experiencing the compromise of initially installing a 351W, I replaced the same power with a 302 Dart/Speed-O-Motive short block to provide the ideal front/rear weight distribution I desired out of the car. As a result, the cornering ability of this car is fantastic. The motor change also provided the ease of checking plugs, gaskets and fittings which I regularly like to do. As far as the body lines are concerned I did consider fender flares and a wide body kit before arriving at the conclusion that 1st Gen Mustangs look best when combining their original clean body lines with the right wheel/tire package tucked under the fenders. The stance, ride height and grip of this car is totally dialed in by virtue of its carefully measured wheel/tire package and fully adjustable suspension set-up.
Worth mentioning...this car is very fast and very loud...your girlfriend/wife may not ride with you...however, your car enthusiast friends will be calling every Sat & Sun for a cruze.
