Description: 1978 Mustang For Sale
I have reduced the price on this car due to the low demand for this era mustang.

Yes, this car is still for sale. Why is it taking so long to sell? Probably because it is currently located in central Minnesota, over an hour's drive from the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport. Getting to it is easy, but time consuming.

Furthermore, as mentioned later in the ad, the car has been driven less than 100 miles over the past 5 years. Hence I can in no way guarantee that the car is mechanically able to make a long drive under its own power - even though both the engine and transmission were professionally rebuilt fairly recently. Hence I *very strongly* recommend that any buyer over 100 miles from Big Lake, MN either use a 4-wheel trailer or a professional vehicle transport service to get this car to their destination.

***Important Note***
This car is located in Big Lake (near Zimmerman) Minnesota. I, the seller, live in Upstate New York. The car is stored with relatives who are available to show the car.

Yes, it runs. It starts and runs on its own. In the past 5 years it has been driven a total of less than 100 miles, so please keep that in mind when deciding how you may want to move it if you wish to purchase this car.

I have addressed many common questions about this car on a FAQ on my website:

You may find quicker answers to your questions through there than by sending an email to me and waiting for a reply.

Car has recently had a new transmission (T5) installed, as well as some additional paint / body work. Its a 2.3L I4, that was replaced several years ago now, with around 20K on the new block and around 10K on the new transmission.
The fuel lines on it were replaced last summer after they started leaking, which was a couple years after the fuel tank was removed and professionally redone by Tank ReNu.
Total mileage on the car is around 110K. I drove it for about half of those. I know of two previous owners of the car, one of whom was my late great-aunt. Prior to her was I believe the original owner who purchased it from Superior Ford in Plymouth, MN. Car has been a Minnesota car for its entire life, and while I owned it, I drove it year-round. This of course meant it needed at least minor body and / or exhaust work every spring, which was kept up diligently (several years ago I had a replacement exhaust head pipe cerma-chromed to prevent the annual rust accumulation that occurred on the original).
Rebuilt T5 transmission came from Libson Twin Cities,
(http://www.libsontruck.com/) one of the best tranny shops in Minneapolis (in business over 50 years - they did a transmission in my great-grandfather's GMC truck many decades ago). Rebuilt block came from Wagamon Brothers (http://www.wagamonbrothers.com/), an engine rebuilder who has been around at least that long. Steering rack was also done a few years back, by Hoover wheel, who started business working on model As. Brakes were redone by Frenz Brakes, who started working on model Ts.

I do not know when I will next be able to make it back to Minnesota to arrange for another location for it, due to my current situation. I would like to just find it a good home, as it is still in need of some TLC.
